Fantastic breakfast choices with friendly staff.
The room was cold and the carpet looked unclean.

I enjoyed the lovely grounds and the quiet setting of my stay. The staff was friendly, making all guests feel at home. I appreciated the cozy bar area where I could unwind after a day exploring. One night, I talked with a teenager who was working in the lounge. They were very polite and helpful, which made my stay more pleasant.
The room was quite small and lacked air conditioning, making it uncomfortable during the afternoons. The bathroom was cramped, and I had trouble with the toilet flush.

Comfortable rooms and fantastic dining options
My stay was delightful, highlighted by a spacious and beautifully decorated room that provided all the necessary amenities. The restaurant offered an excellent dining experience with a variety of well-prepared dishes that exceeded my expectations. I especially enjoyed the made-to-order breakfast, which was a wonderful way to start the day. the dining service could be improved with better staffing during peak hours.

We enjoyed fantastic walks with our dog around the lush green hills, making it a perfect base for exploring the breathtaking beauty of the Scottish Borders. The space in our room was great for the kids to unwind after our adventures.
In my wife’s opinion, they could really improve on providing more family-friendly amenities, like a play area for the kids.

Had a great time with friends! We explored the stunning Abbotsford House and the beautiful Traquair House. Plenty of space to relax after our adventures. Great breakfast choices and clean rooms made everything better!
The dining experience left much to be desired. One staff member was rude and made us feel unwelcome during a family meal, which really put a damper on our evening.

Had a lovely stay in a standard double room, cozy and clean. The continental breakfast was a delightful start to our day, just the right touch to fuel our adventures!
The rain might've been welcome for ducks, but I was not thrilled to learn my curls were now party hats—thanks, unpredictable Scottish weather! where's my mini-fridge when I need a late-night snack?

The jacuzzi bath in our suite was a fantastic way to unwind.
The shower temperature fluctuated between cold and scalding hot.

During our stay, we loved the amazing porridge at breakfast and the delicious steak and ale pie for dinner. The peaceful garden spaces and relaxing outdoor seating were perfect for unwinding after a busy day. The parking lot could use a better surface for motorcycles, but the helpful reception staff suggested a good alternative nearby. 😊

Had a great time with my friends! We explored the beautiful scenery of the Borders and played some golf nearby. The hotel is a fantastic base to unwind after a day out, with comfy rooms and a cozy dining area. Highly recommend the cooked-to-order breakfast and the friendly staff. Perfect for groups!
The only downside was the loose gravel in the parking lot, which was a hassle for our motorbikes. It would be great if they could improve that area.
